With the M8, we focused on achieving a balance between ecological and economic sustainability. The aim was to create an office building with a sophisticated design and maximum flexibility. Functionally designed for a single user or several different users.
The cubature of the building makes optimum use of the plot and, with its historicizing brick façade, provides a counterpoint to the uniform postmodern architecture in the immediate vicinity.
Exposed concrete and black steel determine the materiality and form a contrast to the façade. 44 round arches frame the first floor and second floor and harmonize with the horizontal emphasis of the standard floors.
Various lounge areas and a barista bar act as a center for visitors and tenants. The two-storey foyer is spatially defining and takes up almost the entire width of the building.
As a special bonus, there is a spectacular slide from the fourth floor into the courtyard.
